socket and core clarification

Hi all

        Customer asked for 4vCPU i would like to know which one i can choose to have better performance.

                    number of virtual socket  * number of cores per socket  = total number of cores

option 1:         1                                  * 4                                        =4     

option 2 :         4                                 * 1                                        = 4 

option 3 :         2                                  *2                                       = 4

please give me your valuable suggestions on this.
